Joetex farms in a Family farm owned by the Oklewhem family of Ogome,Trom and Akorley,Somanya. Joetex was established long ago by our forefathers but became incorporated in 2009. Joetex is situated at the natural greenland of the Kroboland, Trom, Somanya-Krobo in the eastern part of Ghana, West Africa with Odumase-Krobo as a suberb. Located 45 minutes from the Ghana's capital city of Accra, 30 minutes from Ghana's main seaport port, Tema, and 10 minute to the Volta Lake, the world's largest reservior by surface area and fourth largest by water volume, JoeTex Farms is a member of the Yilo Krobo Mango Farmers' Association, being landlord to about 65% of its members, and a member of the Ghana Shippers' Authority. JoeTex Farms produces some of the most natural, sweet mangoes in world for sale locally and internationally with GLOBALG.A.P certification. JoeTex mangoes are produced from an indigenous mango grown zone with two (2) harvest seasons annually, an area with a unique climate suitable for mango and other traditional fruits that was discovered by our forefathers in the 17th century when they were settled on the Krobo Mountain, the ancestral home of the Krobos, after migrating from Nigeria in the 16th century. Since its inception, JoeTex Farms has been involved in plantation sharing schemes, health checkups for widows and older farmers in deprived communities, Youth In Agriculture programs, educational support for needy-but-brilliant school children in farming communities, the Obawalenya Afforestation Project, leasing of farmlands at 50% discount for government and investor support projects, providing transportation and marketing for the Widow Farmers Group during harvest, on-air phone call-in farmer training services with the help of RITE FM, a local agriculturally-based radio station acquired by JoeTex Farms / F.M.S.L to help improve the general knowledge of indigenous farmers. This is helping in the development of the locality through education on agricultural, health and social issues
